SYRACUSE CoE OFFICE FOR INDUSTRY COLLABORATION RESEARCH & TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE (R&T COMMITTEE)
The mission of the Syracuse CoE OIC R&T Committee is to advance the state of the art in Clean and Renewable Energy, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Water Resources by developing education and professional development through industry-academic collaboration, technology transfer, and by seeking signature projects through which these efforts can be demonstrated.
The two signature activities of the R&T Committee are the R&T Forums, now called the CNY Sustainable Speaker Series, a collaboration with the US Green Building Council New York Upstate Chapter and the R&T Roadmaps, a structured, comprehensive approach to technology based strategic planning in the fields of clean and renewable energy, indoor environmental quality, and water resources.
Co-Chairs of the R&T Committee are Bob DelZoppo of Syracuse CoE Gold Partner Syracuse Research Corporation and Tom Young of Syracuse CoE Platinum Partner Clarkson University.
The R&T Committee is divided into three sub-committees that correspond to Syracuse CoE's three focus areas:
• Clean and Renewable Energy—Sub-Committee Co-Chairs: Edwin White of SUNY-ESF, Del Dausman of C&S Companies, and Darek Letkiewicz of O'Brien & Gere.
• Indoor Environmental Quality—Sub-Committee Co-Chairs: Alan Hedge of Cornell University and Larry Wetzel of Air Innovations.
• Water Resources—Sub-Committee Co-Chairs: Charley Driscoll of Syracuse University and Dick Elander
R & T Forums (CNY Sustainable Speaker Series)
These proactive monthly sessions focus on creating actionable events from which the attendees can benefit. Each session includes a cross section of people from a variety of groups including relevant industries, academia, and medicine.
These forums provide a great opportunity for networking, brainstorming, and learning about cutting edge environmental technology business practices, research and projects taking place in New York's Creative Core.

Technology Roadmaps
Syracuse CoE OIC Technology Roadmaps envision the state-of-the-industry five years from now and beyond in the three focus areas of the Syracuse CoE. Technology Roadmaps are designed to be a structured, comprehensive approach to technology based strategic planning ...
• Structured insofar as the process of creating the roadmap is as important as the end product;
• Comprehensive insofar as Technology Roadmaps include a broad set of key organizational elements; and
• Strategic insofar as Technology Roadmaps define strategies for technology based organizations based on vision and business objectives
