CNY Works and Syracuse Center of Excellence, in partnership with Onondaga County Human Rights Commission, Matawon Development Group, and East Environmental Training Center, just completed the first Enitiative LEED-ing Edge grant (2008-2010) which provided the US Green Building Council 8-hour training and test scholarships for contractors, the building trades, and income-eligible workers with construction backgrounds. LEED certified contractors have the competitive advantage in government and large-scale contracts, have the tools for Green Homes/Green Jobs contracts, and build energy efficient homes/businesses.
